What Keiser handles, and what lands on you

Keiser supplies the courses, the Clinical Coordinator and faculty who review each site and preceptor, the affiliation agreement that must be signed before hour one, and the Typhon system for your logs. Finding the clinician is left to the student: Keiser's graduate nursing manual says FNP students must acquire all of their own clinical sites.

Finding that clinician is our specialty. We line up preceptors who fit each practicum, from NUR602A through the Integration Practicum, and gather the CV, license, certification and site contact Keiser reviews. Keiser's faculty decide; we make sure the file they open is complete.

Before you start

Does Keiser find preceptors for FNP students?

Keiser approves sites and preceptors and signs the affiliation agreement, but its FNP page says students identify their own clinical sites and preceptors. That search is the part we handle with you. See finding your own preceptor.

Can I do Keiser FNP clinicals outside Florida?

Often yes, with a license in that state and written verification that your state allows the rotations, but Keiser lists restrictions for some states and its two lists differ. The out-of-state guide walks through both.

When should I start looking?

About three months before the practicum's 8-week term, which is Keiser's own advice. The agreement and approval both need that time. Our lead-time guide maps it against the term calendar.

What does your service include?

Who signs off on a preceptor you find for me?
