Finding NP preceptors in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach

One metro, three counties, a long coastline

The Census Bureau's 2025 estimate put the Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach metro at 6,391,072 residents, the largest in Florida. It runs along the Atlantic from Homestead to Jupiter, and Keiser teaches nursing all along it: Miami, Pembroke Pines, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and the Flagship campus, with Port St. Lucie farther up the coast. That shape matters more than any hospital name. A 120-hour practicum works out to about 15 or 16 hours a week for eight weeks, usually two clinic days every week. Broward Health, Memorial and Jackson

Broward Health uses Complio too: its student orientation checklist has instructors verify items on the Broward Health Complio site, and an affiliation agreement is required. For visiting medical students, Broward Health says agreements take 90 to 120 days, with requirements due four weeks before the start. It has no NP-specific student page, so read that medical-student timeline as a reason to begin early.

Memorial Healthcare System in Hollywood mentions Complio only on its visiting medical student page, and Jackson Health System in Miami posts no NP-student route. Neither is closed to you; each is a question for the system's education office, asked well before your term. If a clinician you know practices at one of these hospitals, ask them to find out who handles student agreements, because that one name shortens the path for everyone.

Clinics, practices and why CCPS is a different lane

South Florida has a regional clinical scheduler, the Centralized Clinical Placement System run by the Nursing Consortium of Florida. Its territory runs from Monroe and Miami-Dade up through Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River, with Lee County on the Gulf side. It connects 73 schools with 65 hospitals, but it books prelicensure cohorts; Baptist requires it for ASN and BSN requests. NP preceptorships sit outside it, so a Keiser FNP request travels one of the routes above or goes to an independent practice.

Independent practices can move quickly because the owner decides: primary care offices, walk-in urgent cares, retail clinics and public health department clinics, all settings Keiser names for FNP students. For the 60-hour NUR604A and NUR605A rotations, a pediatric practice or OB-GYN office near home keeps roughly eight hours a week manageable.
