What to put in your message
Answer in your first message what your placement advisor would otherwise ask you later. None of these are required, but each one saves a round of back-and-forth.
- Your Keiser program, such as the MSN FNP, the WHNP, the DNP or the RN to BSN.
- The practicum ahead, by course number if you know it (for example
NUR602AorNUR605A), and the Monday its 8-week term begins. - Your home city, and the longest drive you would accept for clinicals.
- The states where you hold an active RN license.
- The days and times you can attend, including any work schedule you need to fit around.
- Clinicians and practices you have already asked, and what they said.
- Whether you are considering a rotation at your own employer.
If a preceptor has just left, or your term starts within a few weeks, say so in your first line. Urgent situations get handled first when we know about them.

If your situation is urgent

If you are already behind on hours, put the numbers in your message: hours required, hours logged and weeks left. Those three figures tell us immediately what kind of help will work.
Preceptors and practices
Clinicians who would consider precepting a Keiser nursing student can reach us through the same form. Pick the preceptor option, "I'm a preceptor (not a student)", in the program list, and use the message box for your specialty and credentials, your practice location, the patients you see, and the terms or days that work for you.
We match preceptors only with students whose practicum fits their practice, and we explain Keiser's expectations up front: the Preceptor/Mentor Information Form, the affiliation agreement, the week 4 and week 8 evaluations, and the faculty visit. Practice managers who handle contracts are welcome to write as well, especially if your organization already holds an affiliation agreement with Keiser.
Questions that belong with Keiser
Some answers can only come from Keiser, and asking the right office first saves you time. We will point you there whenever a question in your message belongs to Keiser rather than to us.
- Whether a specific preceptor or site is approved: your Clinical Faculty, Clinical Coordinator and Program Director.
- Your course sequence, term plan and grades: your academic advisor and course faculty.
- Forms held on the Academic Portal and the status of an affiliation agreement: the Clinical Coordinator.
- Whether Keiser admits students or allows clinicals in your state: Keiser's Graduate School, alongside our guide for out-of-state FNP students.
Keiser's graduate nursing forms sit on the Academic Portal rather than on Keiser's public site, so the Clinical Coordinator is usually the quickest route to the current version of anything you need to file.
Questions Keiser students ask
How soon should I reach out before my Keiser practicum?
Keiser's FNP page advises planning each clinical course about three months before it starts, so that is the ideal time to write. Later is still worth it: rush searches are part of what we do, and the sooner we hear from you, the more options remain for your term.
Do I need to know my exact course number?
No. Your Keiser program and the approximate term of your next practicum are enough to begin. The course number helps because it tells us the patient focus and hours, such as adult primary care for NUR602A or pediatrics for NUR604A, and your advisor can confirm it with you.
Can I ask a question before deciding to use the service?
Yes. Write with whatever you want to know first, such as how the search works for your program or location, or what shapes a quote. Your placement advisor answers plainly, and the chat button on every page is there for quick questions too. Our cost page explains the pricing factors.
Can my preceptor or their office manager contact you directly?
Yes. A preceptor or practice manager can use the same form and choose the preceptor option in the program list. It helps to mention your name as the student so we can connect the conversation with your search, especially when the affiliation agreement or scheduling is being worked out.
What happens to the details I send?
We use them to run your search and to prepare what Keiser's review needs, sharing with a prospective preceptor only what a match requires, such as your program, practicum and schedule. Our privacy page sets out how information sent through this site is handled.
