NUR605 Primary Health Care of the Family IV is the women's health course, 2 credits, and NUR605A is its 1-credit practicum. The pair follows the two adult terms and pediatrics, and it is the last clinical term before the final Integration Practicum. The practicum sequence guide shows all five in order. Like the pediatric term, NUR605A runs about 8 clinical hours a week beside a 2-credit online course, so the load stays light even as the standard rises.

Expectations climb here. Keiser's older clinical manual sets the minimum preceptor rating on the FNP Clinical Evaluation Form at 4 in the fourth clinical term, one step above the first three, so your women's health preceptor grades you against a higher bar than your adult and pediatric preceptors did. Settings where the caseload is women's health

Keiser's suggested FNP settings are broad: health departments, retail clinics, physician offices, urgent care. For this term, narrow them to places where most visits are women's primary and reproductive care.

• OB-GYN practices, where physicians and nurse practitioners see annual exams, contraception, prenatal visits and menopause care
• Women's health and family planning clinics, including health department programs
• Family practices where the family NP handles a large share of women's visits
• Community health centers that run a dedicated women's health day

Before you commit, ask the office what a typical clinic day looks like. A schedule of only prenatal checks, or only annual exams, gives a thin record; a mix across adolescence, the reproductive years and midlife gives course faculty more to see. Keiser's WHNP students and your FNP term

Keiser also runs an MSN Women's Health Nurse Practitioner program, whose students complete far longer women's health clinicals, from 130 to 260 hours a course across NUR612A to NUR615A. Two practical points follow. A women's health practice that already holds an affiliation agreement with Keiser, through either program, saves you a step, since no hours begin without one.
