Oklahoma clinicals for Keiser nurse practitioner students
Keiser's November 2025 FNP disclosure places Oklahoma on its meets side, and the Graduate School FAQ sets no Oklahoma restriction. Oklahoma's Board skips its permission step for already-licensed nurses in APRN programs based elsewhere, on three conditions, and Keiser rather than you must satisfy two of them.

Oklahoma's three conditions for out-of-state APRN students
Oklahoma's rule for outside programs, OAC 485:10-5-12, splits two ways. Schools preparing students for a first nursing license need the Board's prior permission. Keiser's FNP and WHNP students are licensed RNs already, and for them subsection (c) swaps the permission step for three conditions.

The research did not check how Keiser handles its two, so raise them early and keep the answer in writing. The rule says nothing about RN to BSN programs. On your side, Keiser's 2023 policy flags that practicum hours earned beyond Florida may not satisfy every board, so confirm Oklahoma's will take them; the out-of-state FNP guide explains how.
Licenses and restricted practice
Keiser pairs its Florida requirement, an active and unrestricted RN license, with a second license valid in Oklahoma for clinicals here, and asks Oklahoma applicants to supply written verification that the state allows the training and a later NP license. Oklahoma has issued multistate RN licenses since the enhanced compact went live in January 2018, so an Oklahoma multistate license travels to other compact states. The APRN Compact has not passed here.
AANP ranks Oklahoma restricted. Prescriptive authority rests on a written statement of physician supervision spanning 6,240 hours, and Schedule II prescribing is barred. Keiser, for its part, takes MDs and DOs as FNP preceptors alongside its preferred master's-prepared FNPs; the preceptor requirements list the rest.
The Oklahoma preceptor tax credit
Oklahoma writes a preceptor incentive into state law. Its main terms, from the program page and the Tax Commission:

Keiser's catalog practicums run 60, 120 or 180 hours, so how a Keiser course maps onto a 160-hour rotation is a question for the Commission. Whether a given preceptor qualifies is settled between that preceptor and the state.

OU Health is the University of Oklahoma's academic system. Saint Francis, Hillcrest, INTEGRIS and SSM Health St. Anthony round out the larger names. They mark where practices gather, not where Keiser holds agreements.
Kansas, just north, sits on the Graduate School FAQ's restriction list, while Texas, Arkansas and Missouri meet on the disclosure. An Oklahoma-side practice keeps the three conditions above in one place.
Getting to the residencies
Two residency weekends take Keiser FNP students to Fort Lauderdale in person, the first alongside Advanced Assessment for three days and the second inside the Integration Practicum for two. WHNP students make three trips. Budget for flights, a hotel and the one-time residency fee in the catalog, and read the residency guide before you schedule clinic days around them.

Questions Keiser students ask
Do I need Oklahoma Board permission for my Keiser FNP clinicals?
Not if all three subsection (c) conditions hold. You need an unencumbered RN license good in Oklahoma, your overseeing faculty member needs an Oklahoma license at or above the taught level, and Keiser's program has to meet the Board's APRN education standards. Keiser answers for the last two.
Is a compact license enough for Oklahoma clinicals?
Oklahoma belongs to the compact, so a multistate license may cover the rule's call for an unencumbered Oklahoma RN license. The Board of Nursing is the one to confirm it. Keiser, separately, wants your Florida RN license active and unrestricted throughout the program.
Could my Oklahoma preceptor benefit from the state tax credit?
It depends on the preceptor. The credit targets Oklahoma-licensed clinicians giving primary care in the state who teach APRN students, measured in 160-hour rotations and granted while funds last. The Health Care Workforce Training Commission rules on eligibility, so your preceptor should ask it.
Is Oklahoma on Keiser's restricted states list?
It is not. Oklahoma appears as 'meets' on Keiser's November 2025 FNP disclosure, and the Graduate School FAQ's restriction list passes over it. Neighboring Kansas is a different story, since the FAQ restricts it, which is one more reason to confirm eligibility with the Graduate School.
