Keiser's online NP programs for Nebraska nurses
Nebraska sits on the open side of both Keiser lists. The November 2025 FNP licensure disclosure says the program meets Nebraska's educational requirements, and the Graduate School FAQ leaves the state off its restriction list. Your practicums would take place in Nebraska with a preceptor you line up and Keiser approves, plus two residency trips to Fort Lauderdale.

Which Keiser programs fit a Nebraska address
Because the graduate programs run online, your home state mainly settles two questions: which licenses you carry, and where the clinical hours happen. Confirm your own eligibility with Keiser's Graduate School before you apply.

Licenses: Florida's, plus one that covers Nebraska
Keiser's FNP and WHNP start from a Florida RN license, active and unrestricted, and a Nebraska resident adds an RN license good in Nebraska for the clinical hours. You also need written word from Nebraska that it allows the training and would license you as an NP afterward. The Florida license page explains the details.
Nebraska's compact membership dates to January 2018, meaning an RN license it issues as multistate also works across the other compact states. The APRN Compact, still short of the states it needs to operate, has no Nebraska enactment, so an NP license after graduation is its own Nebraska application.
AANP rates Nebraska full practice, though new NPs begin with a 2,000-hour stretch of supervised practice. Recent board rosters also suggest the old APRN board now sits inside the Board of Nursing, so check which body takes your application.
Nebraska's approval rule stops at pre-licensure programs
DHHS describes the Board's approval role as covering NCLEX-track programs offered to Nebraska residents. Programs for already-licensed nurses, online or not, fall outside it. Keiser's FNP, WHNP, DNP and RN to BSN therefore face no Nebraska program approval before clinicals, and there is no Nebraska roster for Keiser to appear on.
One DHHS position still merits a question: practice happens where the student is, so faculty teaching APRN students in Nebraska are expected to hold Nebraska APRN licensure. That sits on Keiser's side and was not checked in our research, so raise it with the Graduate School. And because Keiser's 2023 policy warns that non-Florida hours may not count everywhere, confirm Nebraska's board will credit yours.
For programs beyond initial licensure, DHHS lets the school set the bar for preceptors. Keiser's preceptor rules therefore govern in Nebraska: a master's-prepared FNP first, a few other NP specialties, physicians, an active license and at least twelve months of experience.
Where a Nebraska search usually starts
By the 2025 Census estimate the Omaha area holds just over a million people, around 887,000 of them in Nebraska proper and the rest in Iowa. Lincoln's metro comes next near 352,000, and Grand Island, the third, is close to 78,000.
Among the state's larger systems are Nebraska Medicine, Children's Nebraska, CHI Health, Bryan Health and Methodist. Treat these names as a map of where family, pediatric and women's health practices exist, not as sites with Keiser agreements; each practice decides on students one preceptor at a time. The pediatric system is an obvious place to look for NUR604A.
No Nebraska incentive for preceptors turned up in the research, so your ask rests on a clear schedule and a well-built Keiser file. A strong offer from the Iowa side of Omaha changes the license you need, and Iowa has separate conditions; the Iowa page has them.
Two Fort Lauderdale weekends on your calendar
The FNP requires two in-person residencies in Fort Lauderdale: a Friday-to-Sunday weekend in the Advanced Assessment course and a Saturday-Sunday weekend inside the final Integration Practicum. WHNP students attend three. The catalog lists a one-time residency fee, and travel is on you. Questions Keiser students ask
Does Nebraska make Keiser get approval before I start FNP clinicals there?
No. Nebraska's Board approves NCLEX-track programs and leaves licensed nurses' programs, such as Keiser's FNP, WHNP, DNP and RN to BSN, outside its approval process. The state does want faculty teaching APRN students there to hold Nebraska APRN licensure, which is a fair question to put to Keiser's Graduate School.
Is Nebraska on either of Keiser's state restriction lists?
Neither one. Nebraska sits in the 'meets' group of the November 2025 FNP disclosure, and the FAQ's graduate nursing restrictions skip it. Since the two lists clash over other states, ask the Graduate School to confirm your standing before you apply.
Can my Omaha-area clinicals take place on the Iowa side?
Possibly, with extra steps. Keiser ties your second license to the state where clinical hours happen, so an Iowa site brings Iowa into your licensing, and Iowa sets its own conditions for programs based elsewhere. Clear the site with Keiser's Clinical Coordinator before committing to it.
Can a physician precept me for Keiser in Nebraska?
Yes. Nebraska leaves preceptor standards for post-licensure programs to the school, and Keiser accepts MDs and DOs as well as its preferred master's-prepared FNPs and some other NPs. Whoever precepts you needs an active, unencumbered license, twelve months or more in practice, and a role at the site.
