New Jersey and Keiser's online nurse practitioner programs
A New Jersey address clears both of Keiser's lists for the FNP: the November 2025 licensure disclosure marks the state as meeting requirements, and the Graduate School FAQ names no New Jersey restriction. The state also turns up in that FAQ for a second reason, as one of the places Keiser points New York students for their clinicals.

The New York connection
Keiser's Graduate School FAQ says it can take New York students but that their clinicals cannot happen in New York, and it steers them to a bordering state, naming Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The FNP disclosure adds its own note ruling out New York placements.
Set that FAQ beside the disclosure and New Jersey stands apart: Connecticut and Pennsylvania carry 'does not meet' on the disclosure, while New Jersey meets, making it the one example that clears both documents. What the New Jersey Board asks of out-of-state programs
Nothing in the New Jersey rules we reviewed makes a program from another state seek approval, or even give notice, before placing students here. The state's nursing-education regulations, chapter 13:37 of the administrative code, cover accreditation for programs run by New Jersey-licensed schools, and their one clinical-agency clause looks outward, at New Jersey programs using sites elsewhere.
The Board's website sat behind a CAPTCHA when this was researched, so its posted guidance is the one piece left unverified; the Board or Keiser can settle it. Keiser's 2023 policy manual also asks you to confirm that your licensing board accepts hours earned outside Florida, as the out-of-state guide explains.
Licensing and joint protocols
Keiser's FNP and WHNP ask for an active, unrestricted Florida RN license plus a license for the state hosting your clinicals, and applicants living outside Florida send written confirmation that their state permits the rotations and later NP licensure. New Jersey joined the multistate compact for RNs in November 2021, but it has yet to adopt the separate APRN Compact.
AANP files New Jersey under reduced practice: NPs who prescribe drugs or devices do it under joint protocols agreed with a physician collaborator. Keiser accepts physicians as FNP preceptors too, though it favors a master's-prepared FNP; the preceptor requirements page sets out who qualifies.
From Newark to Camden: where searches run
New Jersey shares its two biggest metro areas with neighbors, so the in-state share is what counts.

Five large systems work across the state. Cooper University Health Care is the Camden one; RWJBarnabas, Hackensack Meridian, Virtua and Atlantic Health complete the group. Treat them as signposts for where practices gather, not as Keiser partners. No New Jersey preceptor incentive turned up in the research.
Watch the borders. A Philadelphia office would move your hours into Pennsylvania, a 'does not meet' state on Keiser's disclosure, while Delaware wants its Board told, with agreements and preceptor licenses, before an outside program uses Delaware facilities. A practicum kept inside New Jersey avoids both.
Fort Lauderdale weekends from the Northeast
Keiser's FNP includes two in-person residencies in Fort Lauderdale, three days in the Advanced Assessment course and two in the final Integration Practicum; the WHNP has three weekends. The catalog lists a one-time residency fee, and travel is yours to cover. Block a travel day on either side, and raise the second weekend with your last preceptor in your very first conversation. I live in New York. Can my Keiser FNP clinicals happen in New Jersey?
Keiser's Graduate School FAQ names New Jersey among the bordering states open to New York students, and the FNP disclosure lists New Jersey as meeting requirements. You would hold a license covering New Jersey alongside your Florida license. Confirm the arrangement with the Graduate School before you enroll.
Does New Jersey require Keiser to register before I start clinicals?
No such rule surfaced in our research. New Jersey's nursing-education regulations cover programs at New Jersey institutions, not programs from other states placing students there. The Board's own website could not be read during research, so ask the Board or Keiser if you want that confirmed in writing.
Can I use a Philadelphia or Manhattan preceptor while living in New Jersey?
Both cause trouble. Keiser rules out FNP placements in New York, and its disclosure marks Pennsylvania as a state where the FNP falls short. A preceptor practicing in New Jersey keeps you clear of both problems.
What will New Jersey expect of me as a new NP?
AANP classes New Jersey as reduced practice, so you would prescribe under joint protocols set up with a physician collaborator. Your NP license would come straight from the New Jersey Board, since the state has not joined the APRN Compact.
