Keiser runs your studies through a handful of systems: Office 365 for email and access, the Student Portal for records, Blackboard Learn for courses and Typhon for clinical logs. Knowing which does what, and which rules travel with each, keeps a practicum term from slipping over something as small as an unread message.

Office 365 and the 48-hour email rule
Keiser's new-student guidance describes Office 365 as the one Microsoft account behind your student email, Blackboard and the Student Portal, so an update made to that account applies to all three at once. Your email address sits on the student.keiseruniversity.edu domain and is built from your name.
The Graduate Catalog makes that address Keiser's official means of communication with students, expects you to activate it at enrollment, and asks you to check it routinely. Keiser's graduate nursing policy manual goes further. Its Graduate Nursing Email Policy, in effect since February 2022, requires graduate nursing students to check official email at least once every 48 hours, weekends included, and warns that not responding can be deemed unprofessional behavior.
Treat that inbox as part of your clinical paperwork. A question about your preceptor or site that sits unanswered for four days is a slow start to a term that lasts only eight weeks.
The Student Portal and the Academic Portal
The Student Portal, which the catalog also calls the Keiser University Portal, lives at campusportal.keiseruniversity.edu. It holds your schedules, grades, financial aid records and enrollment documents, and Keiser posts textbook prices there by course.
It matters for clinicals because Keiser wants theory and clinical courses finished, with final grades submitted, before you enroll in the next pair. Checking the portal for posted grades before a new term saves a registration surprise. The grade floor on clinical courses is covered on our grades and progression page.
The graduate nursing policy manual names a second site, the Keiser University Academic Portal, as the home of graduate nursing forms. That portal is not public, and Keiser's public pages do not say whether it is the same site as the Student Portal. When you need the current Preceptor/Mentor Information Form or another clinical form, ask your Clinical Coordinator or course faculty exactly where it sits. Blackboard Learn and the three-times-a-week rule
Keiser teaches its courses in Blackboard Learn, with separate sites for each level: keisergrad.blackboard.com for graduate students and keiseruniversity.blackboard.com for undergraduates. New graduate students find the Graduate School Student Orientation course waiting in their Blackboard course list.
The catalog's distance learning rule is strict. Online students must take part in their courses three times per week, and failing to do so could lead to academic dismissal. Separately, a student with no attendance for 14 days must be withdrawn.
In a practicum term the rule needs planning. Each clinical course runs alongside its didactic course inside the same 8-week term (dates on our graduate calendar page), so clinic days, often long ones, must leave room for Blackboard work across the week. Map your clinic days first, then block three study windows around them.
When Blackboard or email stops working, Keiser's Help Desk offers support around the clock by phone or email, and its contact details are printed in the Graduate Catalog and on Keiser's Blackboard Learn page.
Typhon, compliance platforms and research tools
For clinical records, Keiser's former FNP FAQ page named the Typhon Tracking System, a secure website where students track clinical hours and case logs and which totals hours by age group and diagnosis. Keiser's older graduate clinical manual refers to Graduate Nursing tracking processes such as Typhon and a practicum log. The FAQ page has since been retired, so confirm the current tracking tool with course faculty. The logging rules are on our Typhon case logs guide.
No Keiser page, catalog or manual names a compliance tracker for graduate nursing students, and ACEMAPP, Exxat, CastleBranch and myClinicalExchange do not appear in Keiser's documents. A Keiser-branded Complio address exists, but no Keiser document says which programs use it. Host sites may run their own onboarding: Baptist Health South Florida takes clinical requests through Complio, and BayCare uses myClinicalExchange. Ask your Clinical Coordinator which system, if any, applies to your site.
For research approvals, the catalog names Cayuse for the nurse anesthesia capstone's IRB submission, while the DNP project course NUR802 names no platform.
Library, writing help and advising
The Keiser University Library describes itself as a university-wide system library with a branch at every campus, reachable online at keiserlibrary.com and keiseruniversity.libguides.com. It runs a 24-hour Chat With A Librarian service, offers interlibrary loan and document delivery, belongs to LIRN and state consortia, and provides EBSCO, ProQuest, Gale and Summon for searching the literature. Graduate students also have the Graduate Online Writing Studio for help with papers.
Every Keiser student is assigned a faculty advisor. Graduate nursing students also have an Academic Advisor and must meet their Faculty Advisor at least once each academic year, and the Program Coordinator's advising notes are kept in Anthology. Advising reaches into clinicals too: Keiser's practicum policy has your academic advisor review your direct patient care hours at the midpoint of a rotation.
Set up before your first practicum
- Activate your student email and build a habit of checking it every 48 hours at the least

- Ask course faculty which tracking system your practicum uses and when access opens
- Find out from your Clinical Coordinator where current clinical forms sit on the Academic Portal
- Check the Student Portal for posted grades before registering for the next course pair

Does Keiser use Blackboard or Canvas?
Blackboard Learn. Keiser runs a graduate Blackboard site for the Graduate School and a separate undergraduate site, and the Graduate School Student Orientation course appears in a new graduate student's Blackboard course list. The same Office 365 account used for student email opens Blackboard.
Does Keiser use CastleBranch, ACEMAPP or Exxat for nursing clinicals?
None of those names appears in Keiser's catalogs, its graduate nursing manuals or the Keiser pages checked for this guide. A Keiser-branded Complio address exists without any Keiser document saying which programs use it. Your clinical site may still require its own onboarding platform, so ask your Clinical Coordinator before your start date.
What is Anthology at Keiser?
Anthology is the system Keiser's graduate nursing policy manual names for advising records: the Program Coordinator's advising notes are kept there. Keiser's public documents say little more about it, so for any question about your advising record, ask your Academic Advisor or the Program Coordinator directly.
Where does Keiser post grades and class schedules?
In the Student Portal at campusportal.keiseruniversity.edu, which the catalog also calls the Keiser University Portal. It holds schedules, grades, financial aid records and enrollment documents, and textbook prices by course. Check it for posted final grades before you register for your next theory and clinical pair.
Is Typhon still the clinical log system for Keiser FNP students?
Typhon is the system Keiser's documents name: the former FNP FAQ page called it the Typhon Tracking System, and the older clinical manual lists it among the graduate tracking processes. Because the FAQ page has been retired, confirm the current tool and your access date with course faculty before the practicum starts.
