Delaware nurses in Keiser's FNP: the board notice, your licenses and where to precept
Keiser's November 2025 FNP disclosure places Delaware with the states where the program meets educational requirements, and the Graduate School FAQ leaves it unrestricted. What sets Delaware apart is paperwork on the school's side: an out-of-state program tells the Delaware Board of Nursing before it uses a Delaware clinical facility, and sends a set of documents along with that notice.

Keiser programs a Delaware nurse can weigh

Delaware's notice rule for out-of-state schools
The Delaware Board of Nursing, housed in the Division of Professional Regulation, expects an out-of-state school to give it notice before using any Delaware clinical facility. Its regulation, 24 Del. Admin. Code 1900, then spells out the school's submission:
- evidence the program holds home-board approval or national accreditation
- copies of the signed contract with each Delaware clinical agency
- its rules on who may serve as clinical faculty or preceptor
- a roster naming each faculty member and preceptor with their assigned site
- each person's current Delaware or multistate license, copied
Under the same chapter the board signs off on each clinical facility, working from the school's forms, ahead of any student assignment, and board staff may inspect. The text speaks of all nursing education programs without carving out RN-BSN or graduate study, so plan as if it reaches Keiser's FNP unless the board or Keiser says otherwise.
Delaware keeps no public list of schools that have filed, so Keiser's standing there could not be checked. The notice is the school's job; raise it with your Clinical Coordinator once a site looks likely.
Because Delaware wants its board involved before hour one, give a Delaware site more runway than Keiser's usual three months.
Licenses, compacts and full practice
For FNP and WHNP admission, Keiser wants two nursing licenses in good standing, Florida's and the one for the state where you will do clinicals, and applicants from outside Florida document in writing that their state permits both the practicum and later NP licensure. Delaware is a Nurse Licensure Compact member; Keiser's license rule explains what to confirm about a multistate license.
Delaware passed the APRN Compact in August 2021 and is one of five states on board, yet the compact stays dormant until seven states adopt it, so APRN licenses are still issued state by state. AANP lists Delaware as full practice.
Delaware's regulation also sets a floor for preceptors: a nurse with at least a bachelor's in nursing and a current license, licensed or privileged no lower than the role the student is preparing for.
Wilmington, Dover and the rest of the state
Wilmington sits inside the Philadelphia-Camden-Wilmington metro and is home to the Delaware hospital of Nemours Children's Health, an obvious place to explore for the pediatric practicum, NUR604A. ChristianaCare, Bayhealth and Beebe Healthcare are the state's other major systems, and Dover and the Seaford area are the other population centers. Delaware's Division of Public Health sits under its health and social services department.
These names show where Delaware clinicians work; none is presented as having an agreement with Keiser, and each would pass through Keiser's approval and the Delaware notice.
A border address changes the math. Keiser wants a license wherever you train, and the neighbors sit differently on Keiser's lists: Pennsylvania is on the FNP does-not-meet list, Maryland is on the Graduate School FAQ's restriction list and fails the WHNP disclosure, and New Jersey meets.

Is Keiser's online FNP open to Delaware residents?
Keiser's own paperwork says yes so far: its FNP licensure disclosure of November 2025 marks Delaware 'meets', and the Graduate School FAQ restricts other places. Admission itself is Keiser's call, and its two state lists do not line up elsewhere, so get a direct answer from the Graduate School. The out-of-state guide lists the checks.
Who files the Delaware Board of Nursing notice, me or Keiser?
Delaware's regulation places the notice on the school. Your part is speed: settle on a site and preceptor early, get the preceptor's license copy to Keiser, and ask your Clinical Coordinator how Keiser handles Delaware well before the term you are aiming for.
Can a physician precept me at a Delaware site?
Keiser's list accepts MDs and DOs alongside its preferred master's-prepared FNPs. Delaware's regulation, though, describes a preceptor as a nurse with at least a BSN and a valid license. Ask Keiser's Clinical Coordinator how the two fit together before you commit to a physician-led practice in Delaware.
Can I use the APRN Compact after I graduate?
Not for now. Delaware passed the compact in 2021, but it stays inactive until a seventh state enacts it, and only five had by 2026. Until then, NP licensure means a separate application to every state where you intend to work, Delaware included.
